2022 Rocket League Recap

Division One

For all the Rocket League lovers, this is the recap you’ve been waiting for! Let’s get started with our 2022 Rocket League division one recap. During the first week, the week of October 4, we saw Gateway, Forest Hills, Greater Altoona CTC, and United all come out victorious against their opponents, Bishop Carroll, Penn Trafford, Windber, and Westmont Hilltop, respectively. This left our victors all tied for first place in the seasonal rankings with a 1-0 score. The losing teams were all tied for sixth place after the first week, each with a score of 0-1. 

Our next week, the week of October 11, we continued to see some very exciting matches from these teams! The first match of the week was Gateway against Berlin Brothersvalley. Berlin Brothersvalley fought hard, but Gateway was not prepared to give up their number one ranking. With that being said, Gateway ended up taking the win, maintaining their clean win streak of 2-0. The next game of the week was Bishop Carroll versus Greater Altoona CTC. Similar to the fighting spirit of Gateway, Greater Altoona CTC was also not going to let their number one ranking slip away. Greater Altoona CTC also beat Bishop Carroll in a great game, leaving them with a score of 2-0 and tied with Gateway for first place. Our third match of the week was Penn Trafford versus Westmont Hilltop. Wanting to make a comeback from last week’s loss, Penn Trafford put all their effort in beating Westmont Hilltop and claiming their first victory of the season. Our fourth and final match of the week was Windber versus United. Similar to Gateway and Greater Altoona CTC, United was determined to maintain their first place ranking. United ended up defeating Windber and taking the win. This week unfortunately left Westmont Hilltop, Bishop Carroll, and Windber each with their second loss of the season, leaving them all tied in seventh place, all with scores of 0-2. No need to fret, though, as it is only the second week! Lots more exciting games and chances for redemption to come!

Let’s move on to our third week of division one Rocket League matches. This is the recap for the week of October 18. This week our rankings start to become a bit more solidified after some great games. First game this week was Berlin Brothersvalley versus Forest Hills, where Forest Hills managed to win their second victory of the season after a tough fight. Next up was Greater Altoona CTC versus Gateway. The GACTC Goats continued to dominate the league with another win, this time against Gateway, the team previously tied for first place with Greater Altoona CTC. Seeing the two powerhouse teams go up against each other this week was certainly a fight you couldn’t look away from! The third game of the week was Bishop Carroll versus United. United is another undefeated team this season so far, and they won again against Bishop Carroll. This left Greater Altoona CTC and United tied for first place, each with win streaks of 3-0. Our last match of the week was Penn Trafford against Windber, which ended with Penn Trafford taking another win, boosting its overall score to 2-1. What a fantastic week!

How exciting! It’s already week four! This week, the week of October 25, we saw some more great performances from our teams. We started the week with a fiery match between Berlin Brothersvalley and Greater Altoona CTC. The GACTC Goats continued to plow through the competition, beating Berlin Brothersvalley in a fantastic match. The second match of the week was Westmont Hilltop against Forest Hills, where Forest Hills won against Westmont Hilltop. The third match of the week was United against Gateway. Gateway had only lost one match so far, so Gateway was eager to get back to the top of the rankings. However, United had other plans, and took United down in their match. This allowed United to stay with a track record of 4 wins and 0 losses this season so far. Bishop Carroll faced off against Penn Trafford for the last game this week, in which Penn Trafford was able to take the win. All in all, this week left Greater Altoona CTC and United tied for first place with 4-0 scores. A third victory led to Forest Hills’s third place ranking with a 3-0 score. Gateway was bumped down to fifth place this week, after a second loss, leaving them with a 2-2 score. Overall, great week teams!

Time for our week five matches! This is the week of November 1. To kick off the week, we started with a fabulous game between Berlin Brothersvalley and Westmont Hilltop. Fed up with their losses so far, Berlin Brothersvalley really poured their all into this match, taking home their first victory. This left Berlin Brothersvalley with a seasonal score of 1-3 and a sixth place ranking. Next, we watch United and Greater Altoona CTC race each other head on. Remember, up until this point, these two teams were tied for first place with 4 wins and 0 losses each. So, I’m sure you can imagine how thrilling this match between the two leaders was!! It was truly an amazing game, and the GACTC Goats ended up taking home that fifth victory, now dominating the rankings with no contestants. This loss bumped United down to third place, still with a very impressive 4-1 score. The third game for the day was Windber versus Forest Hills. Slowly but surely climbing up the ranks, Forest Hills beat Windber and now claimed a second place title in the rankings with a 4-0 score. Our last match of the day on November 1 was Penn Trafford against Gateway. Gateway tried hard, but they were ultimately no match for the skills of Penn Trafford. Penn Trafford took the win, leading to their third place ranking with a 4-1 score, tied with United.

Wait just a minute! This week’s recap isn’t over yet! This week we had three exciting games on Saturday, November 3 as well. The first match was Bishop Carroll versus Westmont Hilltop. Bishop Carroll was able to successfully beat Westmont Hilltop and claim their very first victory for the season, leaving them ranked in seventh place with a seasonal score of 1-4. The next match was between Forest Hills and Gateway. While Gateway played well, it seems that no team was a match for Forest Hills this season. Forest Hills, once again, wiped out the opposing team, adding another win to its record for a 5-0 score and now promoted to a first place ranking, tied with powerhouse Greater Altoona CTC. The last game of the day was between Berlin Brothersvalley and Windber. Longing for their first victory, Windber showed no mercy when beating Berlin Brothersvalley. Windber ended the day with a new seasonal score of 1-4. What a great Saturday to play Rocket League!

Time for the sixth and final week of division one Rocket League matches!! This week, the week of November 8, we rounded out the season with some phenomenal games. The first match of the day was Berlin Brothersvalley versus United. Berlin Brothersvalley’s team is certainly no joke, but United is a force to be reckoned with. United showed no signs of slowing down its wins, crushing Berlin Brothersvalley for a final fifth win of the season. United ended the season with a third place finish and overall score of 5-1. The next match of the day was Windber versus Westmont Hilltop. After getting a taste of victory during the previous Saturday’s match, it appeared that Windber came back hungry for more. Windber proudly took the win against Westmont Hilltop, ending the season with an eighth place ranking and 1-5 overall score. The third match of the night was Penn Trafford versus Greater Altoona CTC. Penn Trafford has certainly been one of the best teams this season, but the GACTC Goats evidently did not plan on breaking their win streak. The GACTC Goats yet again took the victory, their ruthless sixth victory of the season. Greater Altoona CTC finished the season strong, with a first place title and a perfect 6-0 record. What an impressive feat, GACTC Goats!! The last match of the day, and of the season, was Bishop Carroll versus Forest Hills. Sure, the GACTC Goats were impressive, but Forest Hills was not about to let Greater Altoona CTC claim all the glory by themselves. Forest Hills beat Bishop Carroll in a fantastic match, also ending the season with a perfect 6-0 record. That’s some amazing stuff, Forest Hills!! All in all, we had Forest Hills and Greater Altoona CTC each ending the season with perfect 6-0 records, in the top two of the rankings. United followed closely behind with a third place ranking and 5-1 score. Fourth place was Penn Trafford with 4 wins and 2 losses. Windber and Gateway followed in fifth and sixth place, each with 2-4 seasonal scores. Bishop Carroll and Berlin Brothersvalley were in seventh and eighth place, each with 1 win and 5 losses. Lastly, Westmont Hilltop was ranked ninth place with a 0-6 record. Great season to everyone! As for Westmont Hilltop, who doesn’t love an underdog story? We all saw the effort Westmont Hilltop put into their games, and we will all be rooting for them next season! Fantastic work all division one Rocket League players!!

Division Two: Rocket League

Time for our 2022 division two Rocket League recap! Let’s start with the week of October 4. The first game of the day is Berlin Brothersvalley versus Hollidaysburg. Hollidaysburg started off the season strong, beating Berlin Brothersvalley and claiming their first win of the season. The second match of the day is Penn Trafford versus Gateway. Penn Trafford was in no mood for losing as they won against Gateway, starting the season with a 1-0 score. The following match is Forest Hills versus Greater Altoona CTC. After a great match, Forest Hills ended up taking the win against the GACTC Goats. The fourth and final match of the day was Salisbury-Elk Lick against Westmont Hilltop. Westmont Hilltop fought hard, but Salisbury-Elk Lick wound up taking their first victory of the season. We’re off to an exciting start!

Next, let’s move on to our second week, the week of October 11. The first match of October 11 is Berlin Brothersvalley versus Gateway. Gateway was able to take its first victory of the season by beating Berlin Brothersvalley, leaving themselves with a seasonal score of 1 win and 1 loss so far. The next match was Greater Altoona CTC versus Hollidaysburg. Eager to redeem themselves, the GACTC Goats crushed Hollidaysburg, ending with a 1-1 leaderboard score. We then saw Penn Trafford go head to head against Westmont Hilltop in a fantastic match. Though Westmont Hilltop tried hard, Penn Trafford was determined to maintain their win streak. Penn Trafford ended up beating Westmont Hilltop, leaving them with a first place ranking and 2-0 record. The last match of the day was Forest Hills against Salisbury-Elk Lick. Forest Hills ended up beating Salisbury-Elk Lick and winning their second game of the season. This week left Penn Trafford and Forest Hills tied for first place with 2-0 scores, and Greater Altoona CTC, Hollidaysburg, and Gateway tied for third place with 1-1 scores. Let’s see how the next week of matches shapes the rankings!!

For the third week, the week of October 18, we had four more thrilling matches. First, we watched Greater Altoona CTC beat Berlin Brothersvalley in a great game. This boosted Greater Altoona CTC’s ranking from third place to second place, now with a 2-1 score. The second game was Westmont Hilltop versus Gateway. Gateway was able to take this win against Westmont Hilltop, also climbing the rankings for a second place ranking and 2-1 score. Third, we watched Salisbury-Elk Lick face off against Hollidaysburg. The Salisbury Elks definitely poured their all into this game, but they were ultimately no match for Hollidaysburg. Hollidaysburg ended up taking their second win of the season, for a leaderboard record of 2-1. The last game of the day was Penn Trafford versus Forest Hills. These two teams were tied for first place last week, so this was certainly a thrilling brawl for the first place title. Forest Hills fought like real soldiers, but ultimately fell to the great power of Penn Trafford. Penn Trafford now dominated the league in first place with a perfect 3-0 record. This week also left Forest Hills, Greater Altoona CTC, Gateway, and Hollidaysburg tied for second place, each with scores of 2-1. 

Wow, it’s already time for our week five recap! We started the week of October 25 with a match of Berlin Brothersvalley against Westmont Hilltop. Winning their first game of the season, Westmont Hilltop beat Berlin Brothersvalley. We then watched Greater Altoona CTC defeat Salisbury-Elk Lick in the second match, as Greater Altoona CTC was eager to catch up with Penn Trafford in first place. The third match of the day was Forest Hills against Gateway, where Forest Hills ended up winning the match. Finally, the fourth match of the day was powerhouse Penn Trafford against Hollidaysburg. Hollidaysburg must have really trained hard for this week, because their unmatched skills and abilities actually allowed them to take Penn Trafford by surprise, beating them. And, with that, this week left Forest Hills, Greater Altoona CTC, Hollidaysburg, and Penn Trafford all tied for first place with 3-1 win-loss records. 

Boy oh boy, we are already on our week six recap! The week of November 1. We started off with a match between Berlin Brothersvalley and Salisbury-Elk Lick. Berlin Brothersvalley was finally able to win their first game of the season, beating Salisbury-Elk Lick. The second match of the day was Forest Hills versus Westmont Hilltop. Forest Hills was not going to give up their first place ranking, and therefore, they wasted no time in defeating Westmont Hilltop and claiming their fourth win of the season. The third match was Penn Trafford vs Greater Altoona CTC. Both teams fought extremely hard, and the GACTC Goats ended up winning that third match. The last match of the day was Gateway versus Hollidaysburg. Hollidaysburg once again had a fantastic match and won against Gateway. This week left Forest Hills, Greater Altoona CTC, and Hollidaysburg all tied for first place with a score of 4-1. Can’t wait to see how the final week turns out!!

Last week! This is our last week of division two matches, the week of November 8. The first game of the week was Berlin Brothersvalley versus Forest Hills. Berlin Brothersvalley fought hard, but were ultimately no match for the strength of Forest Hills. Forest Hills took the win this week yet again. The second match of the day was Penn Trafford against Salisbury-Elk Lick. After a great match between the two, Penn Trafford emerged victorious, defeating Salisbury-Elk Lick. The third and final match of the week and of the season was Westmont Hilltop against Hollidaysburg. Eager to defend its first place ranking, Hollidaysburg took another final victory. So, we rounded out the division two season with Greater Altoona CTC, Hollidaysburg, and Forest Hills in the top three, each with a 5-1 score. Penn Trafford was ranked fourth, with 4 wins and 2 losses total. Fifth place was Gateway, with a 2-4 seasonal score. Lastly, we had Gateway, Salisbury-Elk Lick, and Berlin Brothersvalley in sixth, seventh, and eighth place, each with scores of 1-5.
