March 27 Weekly Recap

Wow! We are already on week 5! There’s not a moment to waste, let’s hop right into our weekly recap.
Valorant: Division One

Our first match of the week was on Monday, March 29, at 3:30 pm between Bishop Guilfoyle and Penn Trafford. Penn Trafford put on a fantastic show, getting kills left and right. Penn Trafford won 13 matches in a row against Bishop Guilfoyle, winning the match for the week. This match left Penn Trafford in 5th place on the leaderboard with a seasonal score of 2-2 and Bishop Guilfoyle in 7th place with a 1-2 score.

Our second match of the week was on Monday, March 29, at 4:30 pm between Westmont Hilltop and Greater Johnstown. Westmont Hilltop tried very hard in this match, their teamwork managing to win them 3 rounds, but Greater Johnstown’s superior abilities led to Greater Johnstown taking the win, with a 13-3 score. This match left Greater Johnston in 4th place on the rankings with a 2-1 score. Westmont Hilltop is currently in 9th place with a 0-3 score.
The third match between Hollidaysburg and Everett was rescheduled.


Valorant: Division Two
Both our division two matches, Westmont Hilltop versus Gateway and Bishop Guilfoyle versus Richland, were scheduled to a later date.

Rocket League: Division One

Our first Rocket League match of the week was on Tuesday, March 28, at 3:30 pm between Westmont Hilltop and Carmichaels. Carmichaels showed no mercy in beating Westmont Hilltop with a 3-0 score, keeping the ball in their possession for most of the matches. This match left Carmichaels in 7th place with a 2-3 score and Westmont Hilltop in 12th place with a 0-5 score.

Our next match was on Tuesday, March 28, at 4:15 pm between Uniontown and Gateway. Gateway won all three matches against Uniontown, taking the win for the day. Gateway is currently ranked in 4th place with a 4-1 win to loss score. Uniontown is ranked 10th place with a 0-3 score so far.

The third match was on Tuesday, March 28, at 5:00 pm between Bishop Guilfoyle and Windber. Bishop Guilfoyle used some great teamwork to keep the ball in their possession, scoring goals and racking up points. Bishop Guilfoyle ended up beating Windber with a 3-0 score and taking home their first win of the season. This match left Bishop Guilfoyle in 8th place with a 1-3 score and Windber in 11th place with a 0-4 score.

Lastly, we rounded out our division one matches with a stellar match between Greater Altoona CTC and Forest Hills on Tuesday, March 28, at 5:45 pm. Forest Hills was able to use great teamwork and coordination to win one game, but the GACTC Goats refused to ruin their perfect win streak. The GACTC Goats ultimately won the match with a 3-1 score, maintaining their 1st place ranking, now with 5 wins and 0 losses. This was Forest Hill’s first loss of the season, leaving them with a 3rd place ranking and 4-1 record.


Rocket League: Division Two

Let’s move on to our Rocket League division two recap for the week! Our first match was on Tuesday, March 28, between Laurel Highlands and Richland at 3:30 pm. So far, Laurel Highlands is undefeated. Laurel Highlands sped around the field, scoring points and keeping the ball away from Richland. With their stallion power, Laurel Highlands won the match 3-0. Laurel Highlands proudly defended their 1st place title, now with a seemingly unstoppable win streak of 5-0. Richland is currently ranked in 11th place with a 0-5 score. Keep at it, Richland!

The second match was on Tuesday, March 28, between Hollidaysburg and Penn Trafford at 4:15 pm. Unlike the previous matches, this was quite a close match, most certainly the closest match we had this week in Rocket League. Hollidaysburg and Penn Trafford were able to even the score to 2-2, taking the match to a fifth game. Remember, Hollidaysburg has been undefeated so far. This is also why it was such an epic feat when Penn Trafford used amazing combination moves to win the last match, winning with a 3-2 score against Hollidaysburg. Penn Trafford is currently ranked in 6th place with a 2-1 record. Hollidaysburg is ranked in 3rd place with a 3-1 score.

Our third match was on Tuesday, March 28, at 5:00 pm, with Laurel Highlands versus Shade. Laurel Highlands continued their epic win streak by winning this match 3-0, leaving them with a continued 1st place ranking and 5-0 record. Laurel Highlands sure seemed unstoppable this week in our Rocket League division two series! Shade is currently ranked 10th place with a 0-5 record, though they have shown great effort, teamwork, and persistence in every match.

Our last division two Rocket League match of the week was on Tuesday, March 28, at 5:45 pm between California and Westmont Hilltop. California was ready for another win, beating Westmont Hilltop 3-0. This left California in 7th place with a 2-2 record, and Westmont Hilltop in 9th place with a 0-4 record.


Overwatch: Division One

At 3:30 pm on Wednesday, March 29, we had our first match between Bishop Guilfoyle and Windber. Windber used great teamwork and ult combinations to beat bishop Guilfoyle with a 2-0 score. This was Windber’s fourth win of the season, ranking them in 1st place with a 4-0 seasonal score. This match was also Bishop Guilfoyle’s second loss, leaving them in 9th place with a 0-2 score so far.

Our next match was at 4:15 pm on Wednesday, March 29, between Ferndale and Somerset. Ferndale ultimately won the match with a 2-0 score. This match left Ferndale in 6th place with 2 wins and 2 losses so far. Somerset is currently in 11th place with a 0-4 score. Don’t give up, Somerset!

At 5:00 pm on Wednesday, March 29, we watched the third match between Forest Hills and Richland. Forest Hills ended up sweeping Richland in this match, winning with a strong 2-0 score. Forest Hills’s first win of the season, this victory left Forest Hills in 8th place with a 1-2 score. Richland in currently in 10th place with a 0-3 score.

The last Overwatch division one match on Wednesday, March 19 was between Hollidaysburg and Shade at 5:45 pm. Hollidaysburg had remained undefeated up until this point in the season, so this was certainly going to be a tough match for Shade. However, Shade really pulled themselves together, not ready to lose even a single match, beating Hollidaysburg with a 2-0 score. This win left Shade ranked in 5th place with a great 2-1 seasonal score, and left Hollidaysburg in 3rd place with a 3-1 seasonal score.


Overwatch: Division Two

This week we had three division two matches. To begin, we watched Shade versus Forest Hills on Wednesday, March 29, at 3:30 pm. Forest Hills battled hard and ended up winning the match with a 2-0 score. Forest Hills continued to defend their 1st place position, now with 5 wins and 0 losses. Shade is currently in 5th place with 2 wins and 3 losses.
The second match between Salisbury-Elk Lick and Moshannon Valley was rescheduled.

Our next division two match was on Wednesday, March 29, at 5:00 pm. We watched Greater Johnstown go against Ferndale, each wanting to add another win to their seasonal records. Greater Johnstown beat Ferndale two maps in a row, ending the match with a 2-0 score. Greater Johnstown is currently ranked in 3rd place with a 3-1 score. Ferndale is currently ranked in 7th place with a 1-4 score.

Our last Overwatch division two match was on Wednesday, March 29, at 5:45 pm between Gateway and Richland. Gateway was not ready to break its perfect seasonal record and took another 2-0 victory against Richland. Gateway is currently ranked in 2nd place with a 4-0 score, and Richland is ranked 7th place with a 1-4 score.
