West Branch High School offers a wide variety of courses that are sure to meet every student’s needs. Students can learn more about their course selections through the course selections and tailor their schedules to their passions and interests. With this freedom, West Branch High School encourages a sense of independence and decision-making among students. West Branch High School further guides students by providing counselors to discuss academic plans and career goals, which helps students fully consider their future plans, interests, and abilities when choosing their courses. West Branch High School also pushes students to high standards by requiring students to demonstrate a proficient level of understanding in several fundamental subjects, such as Algebra, Literature, and Biology. Accountability is crucial when it comes to both education and the real world. Hence, a degree of freedom mixed with rigorous academic expectations motivates students to think critically about their choices. Students must also submit a graduation portfolio, an excellent way of wrapping up their high school years of experience and learning and an invaluable memento for years to come. Unsurprisingly, a school with such a progressive mindset has incorporated an esports team into its activities. Critical thinking and decision-making are crucial skills in esports, which West Branch fosters exceptionally well.
